TRAIN AT RSP

We are committed to developing the skills of local vfx artists and technicians, but training opportunities at RSP are often limited by production considerations, which are outside of our control.

Do you offer work experience to secondary students?

Due to the confidential nature of our work we are currently unable to offer work experience.
Nor do we do office tours for individual students.

However, if you email employment@rsp.com.au some examples of your work we may be able to get some feedback from our vfx team for you.

You may submit an example via a quicktime or Vimeo link which demonstrates your experience with any of the software we use at RSP. For example, a 3d model completed in Maya.

To find out more about the software we use see Getting Started in VFX

Do you offer internships?

Depending on production schedules and workstation availability, RSP does occasionally offer internships.

We have a mandate to recruit graduates from local universities ahead of international graduates. This is due to our company needing to meet particular Australian immigration requirements.

We largely deal in naturalistic visual effects for feature film. So we are looking for evidence of those skills in a graduate.

Locally, the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) facilitates the Digital Media Attachment Scheme. This scheme aims to sponsor the career development of existing South Australian professionals, by providing finance for practical and hands-on experience in the digital media industry.

See www.safilm.com.au and look under the “Funding Programs” tab.

Successful applicants have been those who have submitted an application (such as a quicktime on Vimeo) which indicates their hands-on experience with any of the 2d or 3d software applications we use at RSP. For example, a 3d model completed in Maya, or a rotoscoped image sequence using Nuke or Silhouette.

Are there any other training opportunities?

We try to form close relationships with educational facilities in Adelaide and run studio tours for their students.

In 2014 we are partnering with Flinders University and offering a 10 week course.
