The Brief

Empty out London. No cars, planes, boats, people. No signage! Now, fill it will army barricades, helicopter gun ships, hum-vees, speeding volvos and rage infested zombies. Create blood filled eyes and smoke filled streets. And finally, show us what the Isle of Dogs would look like with a napalm fueled hangover the morning after.

The Creative Process

All CG was created and animated in XSI and rendered in Mental Ray. Shake was used for all comp and tracking was courtesy of Boujou and PFTrack. London Post-Napalm was a combination of digital matte painting, 3D volumetric smoke and pre-rendered textures on moving/warping cards.

Sometimes the Volvo and the Apache Helicopter in the Apache chase scene are CG, and the bullet hits on the road were all shot elements comped with CG Debris. For one shot of dozens of massacred zombies, RSP staff were photographed in our carpark and digitally infected and inserted into the plate photography.
