Farewell to Iconic leader & Co-Founder Tony Clark
RSP bids a heartfelt farewell to one of its iconic leaders, as co-founder and Managing Director Tony Clark departs Rising Sun Pictures after almost 30 years of dedicated service.
Tony is an early pioneer who helped put Australian visual effects on the map; inspired a generation of visual effects artists and technologists; and, innovated to solve common creative and technical problems which, in turn, catapulted the visual effects industry to be truly global.
“My greatest professional joy has been to watch and support the growth of the incredible people that make up this business. Seeing them grow and evolve into creative forces, both here and throughout our industry, has truly been an honour for me. It’s been an absolute privilege to work with everyone that has been a part of the RSP journey, and I extend to them my sincere thanks.
I leave RSP in the hands of the incredible Jennie Zeiher, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for over 16 years. Together, we have spent the last 10 years transforming RSP to a place that’s poised to achieve its full potential as the Trusted Creative Partner of choice. Jennie leads a management team that is talented, passionate and committed to the same values of quality, transparency and respect that I share” says Tony.
“Throughout my journey at RSP, Tony has been an incredible mentor, inspirational leader and friend. His unique ability to be both a leader and a futurist for the film industry has played a pivotal role in RSP’s success. I am deeply grateful for his belief in me and his support as I stepped into the role of his successor. Although I have been leading the company for a few years now, I am truly appreciative that he was able to step back into the role this year to support me during my recent health challenges,” says RSP’s President Jennie Zeiher.
As Jennie now transitions back full-time into her role, Tony has decided it’s the right time to now move onto his next chapter.
Pitch Black CEO Sébastien Bergeron expressed his appreciation, stating, "Tony, on behalf of the entire Pitch Black group, thank you for your unwavering leadership at RSP over the years. The care and dedication you showed to this incredible team and your contributions to our industry have become an integral part of RSP’s success, its culture, and the countless people you’ve influenced.”
Tony, from your entire RSP family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for everything you’ve done for the company and each of us personally. Many of us have our own stories of how you've mentored, inspired, and supported us in our journeys at RSP and beyond. You will always be a cornerstone of what makes RSP special, and you will be deeply missed.
