CRAIG FIELD - SENIOR VFX EDITOR

Craig's career began with a multimedia traineeship. Little did he know where this path would take him. Three months later he was 2IC and boom! his career took off! The following years Craig worked for Multimedia design companies, then moved into television where he was filming, editing and grading high level television commercials for clients in the advertising industry. In 2014 - 20 October - to be precise, Craig took the leap to film and began working in the VFX industry at RSP.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GO INTO THE VFX INDUSTRY?
Seeing all the awesome work being produced right here in Adelaide at RSP and believing that I could do it!

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT RSP? 
Working on the biggest movies, solving complex problems and the people.

WHAT MOVIES HAVE YOU WORKED ON?
Pan, Tarzan, Gods of Egypt, X-Men Apocalypse, League of Gods, XXX3 - The Return of Xander Cage, Thor: Ragnarok, Logan, Alien Covenant, Geostorm, Tomb Raider, Peter Rabbit, Animal World.

FAVOURITE MOVIE YOU HAVE WORKED ON? 
It's a tie, Logan and Thor: Ragnarok.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE VFX INDUSTRY?
Working with amazingly talented people whom all share a passion for what they do.

WHAT INTERESTS YOU?
Spending time with my wife and kids, motorbikes, film, TV, learning how things work and playing computer games.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CITY?
Adelaide is an amazing place. You have the best of everything within an hours drive, the weather is great and we have some of the best roads for motorbike riding in the world.

SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT WE DON'T KNOW...
I was once in 4g inverted dive with a MiG28… Keeping up foreign relations.

FAVOURITE MOVIES
Star Wars, Kung fu Hustle and Manga movies.

COFFEE OF CHOICE
Farmers Union Iced Coffee (It’s a South Australian thing).

CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE?
Made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

SUPERPOWER OF CHOICE, AND WHY?
None, because Batman has no super power and you should always be yourself unless you can be BATMAN!!

IF YOU COULD MEET ANYONE AT ALL, WHO WOULD IT BE?
Valentino Rossi – Greatest Moto GP rider of all time, just to chill and go for a ride.

PHOBIA
Not owning a motorcycle.

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS....
Moto GP to come to Adelaide... oh and world peace if this is a beauty pageant.

ADVICE TO ASPIRING ARTISTS
Believe in yourself. Make movies, experiment, learn and fail. Enrol in one of RSPs courses, it will give you exposure to a real world VFX pipeline and get you job ready. Also, be kind to your mother.
